KDS road safety message expands into Africa

KDS have been contacted by the government of Togo for assistance and guidance with their country’s road safety.

Togo (officially the Togolese Republic) is a narrow country in West Africa bordering Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. It extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, on which the capital Lomé is located. The official language is French; however, there are many other languages spoken in Togo.

Togo's size is just under 57,000 square kilometres (22,000 sq mi). It has a population of more than 6,100,000 people, which is dependent mainly on agriculture. Togo is a sub-tropical, sub-Saharan nation.

The expansion of Togo’s transport network, vitally important to development, means that a cohesive, well structured road safety plan is more imperative than ever before.

To this end the Togolese have approached KDS to work in partnership. They have been impressed with the comprehensive approach we have to road safety within our own organisation but also in relation to our many campaigns to promote the road safety message.

KDS are now planning to visit Togo later in the year to discuss implementing a road safety plan that could also be introduced into neighbouring countries.

This plan will include the use of local newspapers, television and radio as well as road-side advertising campaigns.

This is an exciting and unparalleled opportunity for KDS to expand our passionate road safety message globally and we look forward to working in partnership with the Togolese government.
